King Kertanegara

SINGOSARI TEMPLE, this temple lies in the northern part of malang exactly at Singosari about 500 meters from the main Malang-Surabaya road. It is one of some temples left by the Singosari Kingdom. Built in 1304, it is the temple made to honor King Kertanegara, the last King of Singosari who died in 1292 in a place uprising. Around the temple are scattered some statues which used to remain inside the temple; the only one remaining is statues of Agastya or Shiwa Guru, the one who is belived to be the carrier of Hinduism to Indonesia, while the others are now housed at the National Museum of jakarta . This Temple was built in the era of Majapahit Kingdom. You will also be escorted to visit basic life of villagers.
